Near Death Experiences

Stories, research, and common themes that point to consciousness beyond the body — and to what matters most: love, connection, and how we treat each other.

The truth is that it doesn’t matter what you believe, you are going to go to a place of acceptance and love when you leave here. This is wonderful news, this truth that you are much more than your physical body. There is not a singular path, religious or not, believe or not, it is you forever. Break free, with this knowledge go forward with love while you are here.

Near death experiences (NDEs) are a view through the gateway of what comes next. Often occurring during accidents or medical emergencies, people “leave” their physical bodies only to find themselves fully conscious and “whole”, and they go through various stages of the death process. There are literally tens of thousands of NDEs documented, some from as far back as early Egyptian times.

It’s a fascinating subject and the number of commonalities among NDEs are significant. There are people who have devoted their entire careers to the study of NDEs, we know so much yet not many of us have taken the time to dive in. These NDE’s are one of the foundations of my beliefs. There is so much evidence. Watch them yourself (links below), take some time to process these wonderful stories of life after death.

From NDEs we have so much to learn. To me, they show the following:

  1. The universal nature of the after life. It doesn’t matter what belief system you have, if any, you don’t die.
  2. It does matter what you do here, the way you treat others.
  3. NDE’s answer one of the oldest questions of humanity, what happens when we die? These stories give us direct knowledge of what exactly happens when we reach the end of our path here on earth (reunion with our loved ones, life review, beauty beyond words).

I’ve included links to my favorite NDE videos, research videos, and other resources. This is fascinating to me, I hope you find it encouraging and pay attention to what really matters to these people during their life review. It is us who evaluate our own actions, not others, and definitely not GOD, who accepts with the full light of unconditional love. We are here to experience and expand love, the light takes us home.

Near-death experiences offer profound insights into consciousness and continuity beyond physical existence. These testimonies from those who've journeyed to the threshold and returned provide compelling evidence that consciousness survives bodily death.

Common Elements Across NDEs

Out-of-body awareness and expanded consciousness beyond physical limitations.

Encounters with beings of light and deceased loved ones in perfect health.

Life review showing the interconnectedness of actions and their ripple effects.

Overwhelming sense of unconditional love and acceptance.

Knowing that consciousness survives physical death and continues eternally.

Experience of timelessness, stillness, and profound peace.

Understanding of life’s purpose and the importance of love and service.

Reluctance to return to the body because of the bliss experienced.

Permanent shifts in values, priorities, and spiritual understanding.

Loss of fear of death and a deeper appreciation for life.

Scientific Research and Validation

Leading researchers have documented thousands of NDEs with remarkable consistency across cultures, ages, and belief systems. Dr. Raymond Moody first coined the term, while researchers like Dr. Jeffrey Long, Dr. Pim van Lommel, and Dr. Sam Parnia have provided scientific frameworks for understanding these phenomena.

Scale

Over 25 million Americans report having had near-death experiences.

Consistency

NDEs occur across cultures, religions, and age groups with many shared elements.

Children’s cases

Children’s NDEs are often cited as compelling because they have less cultural conditioning.

Veridical reports

Some NDEs include details the experiencer didn’t know at the time but were later verified.

Medical context

In some cardiac arrest cases, reports occur when brain activity is minimal or absent by standard measures.

Aftereffects

Post-NDE personality changes are often reported as consistent and long-lasting.

Intuition

Some experiencers report heightened intuition or other unusual perceptions after returning.

Transformational Impact

Those who return from near-death experiences are fundamentally changed. They report:

Fear of death

Complete loss of fear of death and enhanced appreciation for life.

Compassion

Increased empathy, compassion, and desire to serve others.

Priorities

Shift from material to spiritual values and priorities.

Sensitivity

Enhanced spiritual sensitivity and, for some, unusual intuitive experiences.

Light & electronics

Difficulty with artificial lighting and electronic devices.

Connection

Deeper connection to nature and all living beings.

Love

Understanding that love is the fundamental force of existence.

Life review

Knowledge that every thought, word, and action matters—often described as having lasting significance.
